Mentorship and Tutor Services

The Virtual Mentorship program is designed to provide catered support to new teachers. Each session is 1.5 hours, for schools with multiple mentorships face-to-face support is available.

 

This PD mentorship includes (but is not limited to) support in:

• Designing unit outlines, lesson plans

• Designing diagnostic, formative and summative assessment

• Analysing class data

• Developing classroom presence

• Targeted behaviour management techniques

Price: $600 for 4 x 1.5 hour online seminars

Face-to-face incursions offered for schools with group bookings

Individual tutor sessions curated to the students’ needs including skill support, homework help, strategies in improving essays and feedback on classwork and homework.

All support is with close reference to the VCE English Study Design and English Assessor’s Report. For specific units tailored model texts are available upon request.

Specific areas of learning include:

• Developing an insightful and unique response to an essay topic

• Avoiding common errors like recount in essays (retelling the story)

• Sustained analysis of texts

• Identifying argument

• Sustained analysis of persuasive effects in a text

• Developing a nuanced creative response

Individual tutor sessions curated to students’ needs in English and Humanities classes including skill support and homework help. All lessons are with close reference to the Victorian Curriculum requirements and can be tailored to focus on skills essential for success in VCE.
